Hindu Priests Must Have Known

Growing up in a traditional, Brahmin family surrounded by Vedic scholars has given me the incite into what Hinduism is all about. As a medical professional, I have had the opportunity to understand basic physiology, biochemistry and pathological changes occurring in human body, which were interpreted by our pundits as Vau, pittha and sheetha. Their knowledge was based on environment and natural elements existing in our universe.

Working in intensive care for almost twenty five years and managing babies and illness in children was like “Playing God”. It is true; we act as the gatekeeper to the garden of life and death. It a very hard decision and often traumatic experience we learn to cope with, but we are not “God” and so can only sustain life for some time but not prevent it. When some of my colleagues or nurses and patients tell me that I saved some ones life, I tell them “I did not save anyone, the person survived because they were not designated to die”. I merely held the hand of this person near the gate and begged God to give him more time. Trying to bring back life after death is hard but to decide when to stop this process is harder. An iota of doubt “What if?” always remains in my heart after abandoning the process of resuscitation.

What I saw 20 years ago has not stopped me worrying about. I am preaching and warning people about the impending doom, which will engulf us all one day. It is not left to me to make the changes but can only warn people about it. Unfortunately people do not see it, nor believe what I say. This is not my problem, because I am doing my duty and so am in peace with myself.

As a priest by birth, it is my duty to speak out the truth, share my knowledge and help people to understand the diference between good and bad, right and wrong and life and death. I am sure people will critise me if I say most of us have not understood the concepts of Hinduism. Some claim to be proud of being born as a Hindu and practice rituals, others believe in visiting temples and have various idiols placed in their house to exhibit their Hindu culture.

I have studied few rituals, some make sense but others don’t but am not criticisising people who believe and practice rituals.

But how did all this come about? Why are Hindus riddled with rituals they hardly can understand? Why should one perform yoga to please God?

Hinduism is not a religion but a way of living any one can practice this but living swamped with rituals is difficult. People who perform them should have the answers and hopefully tell me what and how they are important. My ancestors have told me, “Rituals if practiced will bring an end of this way of living”.

Hindus Gods & Science

We know “Surya” the Sun God is the ruler of universe, without sun we have no life. This is associated with “Aghni” (fire) = Athma (Soul), the reason we get married in front of fire.

Based on the shape of Sun our ancestors contributed “Chakra” wheel of life, centre of mathematics and engineering. Without the “Chakra” we could have not have moved forward.

Hindu mythology so far has mentioned “Nava Avatar” (Some have incorporated “Buddha” and made it as Dasha Avatar), Nava Rathri, Nava Graha and I can go on, even 9 months and 9 days of pregnancy all are significant because they link “O” in the centre, so the chain move on.

Our brain was trained to listen, not interpret but to recite. The mantras are to help train our breathing, calm our pacing heart and smoothen our brain. Once we learn to control our mind, we manage our body and its function. Most chemicals used to treat disease are all based on the knowledge of chemicals present in out body. English medicine was only evolved over the last 100 years. Seperating penicilline from fungs was developed fifty years ago (Pencilline was discovered by Chinese).

Meditation, yoga and mantras are all based on scientific knowledge and have good scientific explanation. Horoscope, numerology, aurvedha and the orange cloth claded “Bhagavns” are selling “Hinduism” as a commodity.

Now the western society is waking up and respecting our ancestor’s knowledge. Their interpretation and advice on health is more important than the collective knowledge the western medicine can explain.

Let us start discussing about how, why and what are essential elements in the universe that are important to sustain life. How we could start thinking like our ancestors did and probably explains the mysteries of our universe

I will be publishing Articles Based on the response to my blog, so please post a comment or ask me.

"Freedom", Think Are You Free to............

What does this word mean? Is this what we think we have or is this some thing we were used to?Please pause for a second and think for yourself, Are you free to do what you like to, speak your mind act the way you like to, and still be free?

I for one don’t think I am, but are there others in this universe who thinks like me?Does color of your skin, religion or the power wested on you make the difference?Looking back fifty years of my life.

I think I have moved from free world to live in a pseudo world of freedom, a country respecting culture, color, religion, and race.In the past, kings and queens of countries took control of their kingdom; now these so called rulers (politicians) have penetrated the open world and have turned around to rule our life. Its people like me the once who know well what ruling is all about who can see the difference.

Common people who work and care for their family have not yet realized what these so called rulers are getting up to.As a great saint once said communism is the end of religion, and an idiot will be born to bring in an end to human kind. What and how we are slowly conditioned to accept this? And who are we to blame?

The main function of the ruler is to instigate fear. In the past religious organizations did successfully introduce heaven, hell, and God. Now the politicians are taking about terrorists, WMD, and threat of global warming to instigate fear and control. We are conditioning our children to be prisoners in our own comfortable surrounding. They are not free to go anywhere on their own, play and talk to strangers and say things they want to. News about pedophilia, lost children, and violence are mounting fear in us resulting in making our children behave like prisioners.

I am yet to come across a street, shop, or place where you don’t see a camera. Some one is constantly watching you all the time. Driving in the motor way, I felt uncomfortable and started thinking about this camera, bus lanes and parking.

Whose idea was it to start average speed limit of 30 miles? Who and why are we paying car tax and paying to park in the same road where we have paid tax to drive? Who's idea was it to invent bus lanes for empty busses to drive through when we are spending hours burring petrol and polluting the environment?"Freedom of speech", I don't think you are safe if you sympathies if you talk about certain religious group or organization.

To tell you frankly, it’s hard to breathe these days without being fined or locked up in a prison. Fear, fear, and more fear, do we call this freedom?Let us start talking about this so called freedom, I am sure you will start thinking and may be we need to start acting now to bring in changes that free us from the clutches of these rulers ………….
